Shipping a computer to Hong Kong Hello all, I'm moving to HK from the US... does anyone know of any restrictions for shipping my computer over? I know of some companys that won't send their product over to HK, and was wondering if that also applied to personal computers...

I would disassemble it, package the parts carefully with a lot of protection in one box. Then buy a new case and power supply (the heaviest, largest parts) when you arrive, and reassemble.

I shipped my desktop with no problem, the only thing the packing company advised me was switch your 110 to 220 before packing, so when you plug it in HK, it doesn't blow.

Oh restrictions.. wtf? lol sorry, wrong advice. No, you can send your computer if you want. My advice was more of a money and time saving opportunity

Thanks to all for the advice... I did indeed wind up packing it carefully (it's a Mac mini, so takes up little room) and was able to put it in my carry on. Just bought the monitor and accessories here, and it's good to go. Thanks again!
