How can South African get work visa?

My partner is South African and I am from hong kong. He is looking to teach English in Hk and he has a TEFL certificate. But we are not married yet and there is no working visa issued for south africans. What should he do? How can he get a job in HK when he has no visa? Does anybody have any idea at all? I will really appreciate it! Thanks guys.

What?!

What? I know he has to get a job. But how can he without ID card or ability to stay in Hk for more than 30 days?

Apply for jobs when he's over here on a tourist visa of course! Just like many hundreds of others who wish to work in HK.

What does he do now and what sort of job does he want to do?

There are numerous 'schools' here who employ TESOL teachers, pays around 20,000hkd a month (argue more with experience), TEFAL/ TESOL cert highly regarded. These schools are always advertising, currently South China Morning Post (online) and the free HK paper..........
Looking for 'native english speakers,' whatever. Big demand by Chinese for extra advancement in this area, usually for children; kindergarten or high school.

If you apply and are successful, they will 'employ' you whilst (or after) they make your 'working visa' application. Re-entering the country (going home or over borders) gives extra visiting time.

Good luck

Er, China or Hong Kong? They are completely separate from an Immigration / Visa perspective, and have different languages (Putonghua/Mandarin as the national language of China, Cantonese as the main language of Hong Kong).

Maybe you need to do a little more research and then focus your question more specifically...

south africans can get work visas just like almost everyone else. what you bf needs to prove is that he has some quality that is not readily available in HK. he needs to find a job that will agree to sponsor a work visa.

no one can just apply for a work visa. they need to be sponsored by their prospective employer. then once the visa is granted, your bf can only work for that employer. NO ONE ELSE. at least that's the legal side of it.
good luck!
