Dermatologist/Skin Clinic

Hi there,

I've recently moved to Hong Kong and am looking for a good dermatologist/skin clinic, as my acne is out of control here.
I've been prescribed Roaccutane before back home in New Zealand and am seeking the same treatment.

Can someone point me in a good direction? I'm not looking for facials etc...

Cheers
K.

dermatologist/skin clinic

I used to have the same problems after I have visted to "Reenex" which located in opposite of Times Square in Causeway Bay. Price range $500 to$ 1,000 per session (it depends on which type that you are required) and all of the products are good as well. I now have a very smooth skin after 4 sessons of "Peel". It works really well. Interested please ask for the consultant named "Bell". She is good. If you wanna get a special discout or even a free treatment, you can mention my name "carrie". Tel: 2970 3888.

Yeah~ Proactive Solution does work. You should try to use this product and order through the internet, as they don't sell it in HK.
Here is the web site http://www.proactive.com/

Question Proactive did not work for me...

I am from the U.S. and have tried Proactive and it actually made my skin worse. And yes, I did try it over a period of three months, so did give it ample time to work. It does not work for everybody. I have been seeing a dermatolgist since I was 16 and the only thing that worked for me which was a last resort was Accutane which I tried when I was 21.

My skin was perfect for about seven years, but since living in Hong Kong, is reverting back. It really sucks to have to deal with this all over again.

I'm looking for a good treatment without the harsh pills. If anybody has any advice, it would be appreciated.

Thanks~

Accutane is too strong and too much side effect. You can try either tetracycline or Diane 35.

Never heard of Diane 35, is that a Rx pill? Or can you buy it at a pharmacy or something?

Unfortunately, I am no stranger to this problem myself. Anyone suffering from severe acne will know (1) not to waste their time with topicals or clinics who claim to offer treatments that will clear it up. These treatments simply do not make a dent in severe acne but will make a significant dent in your wallet. (2) Accutane may have side effects but they are rare, in some cases avoidable, and usually temporary. All medication carries side effects, especially with long term use.

I will PM you the name of the doctor I have used here (I don't have it with me at work). He speaks English and is happy to prescribe Accutane (perhaps a little too liberally). Send me a message if you wanna talk further about costs and stuff.

Chicago Girl - Diane 35 (in the UK it is called Dianette) is a birth control pill that is prescribed in order to deal with hormonal imbalances (I think - I am not a doc!!)
