thailand long w/e with toddler....

Planning a 4 night thailand escape in March with our 16 mth daughter.

Looking to stay in a nice resort - 4 or 5 star, that is child friendly and has babysitting facilities. That said don't want to go to the pool with families of screaming kids! Any suggestions on Ko Samui or Pukhet would be greatfully recieved!

The other option was Phillipiennes, however would prefer just to get on one plane with rougish toddler!!!

Cheers

The Philippines is still possible if you go to Cebu... the Shangri-La there is nice, and I'm sure they will have baby-sitting facilities.

CX Holidays have flight plus hotel packages which would start at about HK$4300 per person plus taxes for 4 nights...

We absolutely loved the Sheraton Laguna Phuket, it is in a self-contained "community" with 5 other resorts, and have a small shopping center. Our almost 3 yr old son just loved going for the free shuttle bus. . . more like jeeps that go around the resort, or the boats that cruise around it. That was entertainment in and of itself. We did not venture out at all, meals can also be had on the beach for reasonable price.

We're big fans of the Allamanda in the Phuket Laguna .. managed to get a poolside room on our last visit and our son loved it.

The faciities at the Allamanda are a bit lacking compared to the other hotels in that resort so yeah, the sheraton might be a great option.

I personally cannot deal with the food in the Phillipines (Thai ranks a my favorite).. Cebu was a bit of a disappointment for me.

I tend to agree - The Philippines is one of the very few (in fact perhaps the only) place in the world where I prefer to stick to foreign food rather than the local fare. But in somewhere like the Shang that isn't a problem.
