Heaters and de-humidifiers

we are moving out to HK in April and will need to buy heaters and de-humidifiers. Should I buy them in HK or in UK. I can get good heaters in uk for aroound £80 and as the company will ship everything that is not a concern. can anyone reccomend a web site so I can do a price compare ??

Heaters are not worth bringing over as you don't get too many cold days out here in HK, And being a fellow Brit its bearable!

So far this winter theres only been around 3 cold days since December which is nothing, Heaters you can get over for a few hundred hk dollars anyway.

De-humidifiers you'll definately need and again they're cheap out here.

Pretty much everything out here is cheaper than rip off Britain especially when it comes to Electrical equipment.

jimbo is right there really is no need to splash out on expensive heaters though saying that you will feel the cold when it hits. We make do with one oil-filled radiator and an electric ceramic heater for instant heat. In the office I have an electric fan heater which cost HKD99. You're better buying local anyway to benefit from a warranty (and boost the economy - ha ha ha!).

One thing you will notice moving to HK is that apartments aren't as well insulated as in the UK. Living in London if it was 5 degrees outside I could easily be sitting at home comfortably with the window open and a mild radiator on. In HK even at 15 degrees it feels cold inside but with heaters here you'll be fine. As said above most electricals except things like plasma tvs are cheaper than rip off Britain.
