| If he wants to save 1200 HKD this is what my doctor told me when I went in for this horrid flu: steam bowl to sooth the tubes take appropraite cough medicine (actifed is good) - take doubel does at night to help you sleep rest and sleep drink honey, lemon, hot water and ginger Only need antibiotics if you have a chest/throat infection - the rest you can just get form the pharmacy |

| A visit to the Cannosa out paitent during day time hours should be about $400-500 including meds. Be warned though .. they'll put you on antibiotics regardless of what the diagnosis (i.e. viral or bacterial)

| Hello I would second the advice given. Plus rest/Vitamin C (oranges or orange juice or effervescent) and if the throat is sore, aspirin gargles (if non-allergic) A good pharmacist can offer this advice also. Doctors can't do much about flu, unfortunatelyu, so it's symptomatic relief unless (as someone said) there's a secondary bacterial infection. Antibiotics are not indicated and wont help! Hope this helps your friend. LA |
