Question What happened to Kublai's in WanChai?

Last weekend we arrived at 18 Luard Rd. in WanChai looking forward to a Mongolian style barbeque dinner, only to learn that Kublai's was no longer there (despite YP.COM.HK search results ). Anyone know whether they moved or closed? If they moved, where to? Any recommendations for Mongolian style BBQ restaurant? Thanks.

Arent they above Delanheys? If they've closed down, it has been in the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Yup- they didn't pay their rent so out they went! The standards had been droppping gradually- I think they just lost interest. A pity really as the owning family aint short of a penny or two. We're going to Nomads in TST for Mongolian!

OK- so we tried Nomads and it wasn't quite as good. The choice of ingredients was slightly different but the sauces weren't very varied. I mean, green thai curry sauce- at a mongolian! For the same price you can also have a hot pot but that didn't appeal to us. They also do a mongolian pizza which is a pizza base you pick up on your plate and add what you want. They than add cheese and cook it for you. Seems pretty pointless in a mongolian place but i guess it helps cater for a broad taste.
Good decor though and the prices weren't too bad.

Other places?

Besides from Nomads, are there any other good Mongolian places to check out in HK (particularly more affordable/casual places)?

Isn't there a Monglian in the food court at 360 Landmark? Haven't tried it, but it was a bit odd. You fill a plastic container, they charge you by the weight and then cook it for you.
