We have not yet been to any Hong Kong cinemas yet because we don't know whether movie soundtracks are in Chinese or English.

Can someone recommend cinemas which show American movies with English soundtracks? We live in WanChai district. Thanks. l

U.S movies will be in English with chinese subtitles unless clearly stated otherwise on the poster in the cinema.

If the film was made in English then the cinema shows it in English with Chinese subtitles. Yis certainly applies to all the UA and Broadway cinemas. http://www.ciyline.com.hk http://www.cinema.com.hk

Can try the cinema in IFC, they show quite a number of English movies in English.

PDLM -- All true .. except for animated films.. most disney / pixar titles that are shown in Hong kOng have both English (at a couple of places) and Cantonese (in a majority of the places) soundtracks.

Basically all the US and UK movies are in English. Local HK / Chinese movies, along with French and German imports usually have subtitles in English.

Citiline is actually a pretty good site. It will point out what is dubbed and what is in original English.

IFC is a very popular theater, and tough to get a ticket there for a blockbuster release (imports from Europe are pretty easy). I like the theater in Mongkok's mall--big, stadium style.

Hong Kong is not mainland china. English movies show in English and there are no any scene be deleted because of any reason. Sometimes cartoons like The Incredibles and chickern little have soundtrack in chinese.
