Having said that, with the quotas they have to fulfill every month, and the short sightness of management, perhaps they are willing to just offer cards like crazy. In some places, a mark of performance is not the turnover or profitability, but the number of cards issued!
You're right I think. I was disapproved by BEA. Seesh, oh well. So much for the mini Hi Fi. I know I'm not piling in debt so I think they figured out im in for the free gift

Guess I have to wait for a year to cancel all my cards so I can reapply!

best gift was HSBC, but the promo is finished.

DBS' mini hifi is okay, but not really raving about it.

which is good again ? if u are to pick from all 12 now ?
hsbc as in the home theatre set ? or the LCD stuffs ?

however, most of the free gifts are conditional on the person having spend at least 3k hkd within the first 2-3months of issuance of the card...

The good ones are below:
HSBC - got the PSP and the Ipod nano, and sold off the ipod nano - have a total of 4 cards for that
Citibank I got the 7500 Asia miles free - not enough for a flight, but good enough anyway... - and no spending requirement anyway...

The okay ones:
ABN Amro - PMP - just paid 300 more - giving it as a gift...
DBS - Mini hi fi, don't know what to do with that yet.

The regret one:
Mevas - huge, huge stuff toy - I actually regret getting it since it's piling in my apartment and taking up precious space! Will bring it back home where my room is roomier...

The other cards I didn't use, so they're just piling in my drawer...

Yes, most of them were conditional. I offer to use my card to pay for dinners with friends and they gave me cash, so I can increase my spending

psp - HKD 300 more, it's next to nothing

Yeah, I do have the cobranded cards that are tagged along with the principal cards. I have one HSBC Platinum, 2 Golds, and 1 classic. Cant remember the cobranded stuff because I don't use them.
