Yuen Yeung = Coffee + Ceylon tea (or any dark color tea) + milk/cream
only available in Cha Chaan Ten i think

Kafa (it has a camel logo, Morrocan Coffee i reckon) - I found it inside a building on Wyndham Street, sited in a big corner area at the lobby. and that building is right behind Marks & Spencer on Queen's Rd and Wyndham. I passed by today and found it closed on Sunday.
Thanks for the explanation. I'm learning more and more every day. Actually I had a manicure yesterday at Toni & Guy in Wyndham Street (yes, real men do still have manicures) and I noticed Kafa as I walked past. Looks nice, I didn't have time for a coffee but I will definitely go in there next time I am walking past and have time.

By the way if you want a relatively inexpensive manicure by a good manicurist I can recommend Ming Cheung at Toni & Guy Wydnham Street. She was no trainee - seven years experience and she definitely knew what she was doing.

try cafe crema in tst east, in an alley behind the regal hotel - they make pretty decent coffee too, plus the service is all-smiles, which can't be bad

it's totally out of the way for me, but being a homesick melbournian used to about 2 good lattes/long macs a day, it's been my best bet so far.

unfortunately i haven't had a chance to try out most of the places you guys have mentioned here since they're on hk side (except first cup - i'm going there tomorrow no matter what!!), which is even further away from me... *sigh*

100% agree with you. Cafe Zambra has the best expresso i tried in HK. The afternoon/evening barista knows how to shot a good expresso !!!

Haha...

I can tell English is not your first language so I shouldn't laugh, but I just have to correct your English. Chinese laugh at me when I pronounce "mother" like "horse" or make some other mistake and unintentionally say a very rude word!!

You a not an "additive" to coffee, you are "addicted" to coffee.

An "additive" (noun) is something you add to something. For example milk, cream and sugar are common "additives" to coffee. We shouldn't add you to the coffee should we? Perhaps coffee is an additive to you!

"Addicted" (adjective) describes a person (or perhaps another living creature) that is in the state of having an addiction (noun) to something, in other words needing or craving something so much that they will go to unreasonable or irrational lengths to obtain that thing which they are addicted to. Addictions tend to affect other aspects of people's lives in an unhealthy way. Commonly found addictions are cigarrettes and other tobacco products, illicit (that is, illegal) drugs, coffee (or more accurately the caffeine in the coffee), sex, alcohol and the internet!

Here endeth the English lesson.

PS. I will definitely keep an eye out for good flat whites around Central and get back to you if and when I find one (or some).

Anyway, "Flat White" will ready for me tomorrow! As I will back to sydney for 10 days!
Hope can learn more Eng from you next time!

Mc Coffee - HK/NY

I'm talking about McDonald's Coffee, not McCafe.

Just when this once-in-a-while McBreakfast-Urge calling me up for one this morning, I had this coffee which I found it expectedly good! It's not super good but good enough if someone has prejugdice (did i spell right Andrew?) on Mc's coffee. At least I have no complaint about it.

Yet, if someone is travelling to America soon, just don't go for coffee at Mc's, they all taste like sh*t! I had a McBreakfast in NYC, and every single part of that breakfast failed me!!!

Good news Sydney08 - you can get your flat white at Eat Right, just off the escalator in Central. There must be some Aussie link with that place; the beans they serve are also an Australian brand (Toby's Estate).

Report on Kafa

Had my hair cut at SE Salon in Centrium building today. Took the opportunity to try Kafa. It is in the lobby of 8 Wyndham Street in Central (east side of Wynham St, on the left as you are walking uphill). Take MTR exit D (I think it is D1 that takes you to Pedder Street, turn right out of the exit, walk to the end of Pedder Street, cross straight over Queen Street and you are now walking up Wyndham Street). The building is on the corner of On Lan Street (just before you get to On Lan Street as you are walking uphill).

My verdict - excellent. Very, very good. Is it as good as First Cup in TST? Hmmm, they are in the same ball park, but which is better would probably be a matter of personal taste. Kafa is definitely better located if you are on the Island side. If you were in Central (or even Admiralty, Wanchai or Causeway Bay) and wanted a good coffee, First Cup would definitely not be sufficiently better than Kafa to justify the journey over to TST.

Sorry Niccy, you didn't spell it right. It is "prejudice". Drop the 'g'. Doesn't matter, everyone knew what you meant.

1/ Eat Right, SoHo
2/ Horizon Plaza, Ap Lei Chau
And decent coffee in a cool atmosphere can be had at:
Epoch - the Illy Cafe off Star St in Wanchai

Not quite enough to fill a guidebook yet, but things are looking up.
Agreed ~ stellar coffee. A nice surprise after a day on the feet shopping for furniture at Horizons.
