You need that coffee to wash down that 2mm thick layer of icing sugar!

That's a tough call

You get a coffee but they force you to eat a Krispy Kreme donut. You can't buy a donut and then not eat it, and Krispy Kreme donuts are ridiculously fattening but very yummy . That could be just the start of eating junk food again and then there goes all that good work in the gym...a PT told me once there is the same amount of energy in 3 mars bars as you lose running a marathon. He used to say to me, "what would you rather do, run a marathon or not eat 3 mars bars?"

The coffee doesn't look that great to me in the picture anyway, it's that American style coffee with no froth (please don't take offence Americans, I just prefer the taste of the Euro style coffee).

Finally trekked down to KK at Causeway Bay for my first bite. Not bad at all both the doughnuts and the coffee, though for some reason I kept thinking of Dunkin Donuts.

While only three tables were occupied there was a serious bit of delivery action going on, with a most fetching Elyse Sewell swooping in to pickup a couple of dozen.

Will definitely have to keep this as a once a month treat.

If by promotion you mean the free coffee for friends of KK forget it, their regular deal of 2KK + coffee for $25 is better.
Can't believe that the delectable Ms Sewell is not known in the land south of here.
Well all I can say is google post haste to rid ye of ignorance

I found a picture of her here: http://www.upn.com/shows/top_model1/bio_elyse.shtml

She's ok, I guess...I see prettier girls just walking the streets of HK. It's all just a matter of personal preference...

Yeah, I know that Am. Top Model show but never watched it...

Hey PRMaverick, I know your post is a little old, where can we find cafe ligeos? It's a shop or just a coffee bean brand that you only see from fancy supermarket, like great or gormet???

I realise coffee isn't an Asian thing but surely in a city of 7+ million there must be a place that has GREAT coffee?? I gave the Illy coffee at Epoch 6.5/10. Maybe it was the barrista. I had a double shot, and with the latte it needed it. A single shot would have been ridiculously weak.

2 latte macchiatos and 2 bottles of water - HK$100.
Hello fellow melbournite.
Just had another coffee to confirm that it is good. Get yourself down to Eat Right in Soho
They serve Toby's estate from NSW.
I'd say its not quite as robust as the italian style roasts we are used to in Melbourne, but the best I've had in over 12 yrs in HK (you should have seen it before starbucks came to town!)
I've not had it at Epoch but would be interested to your opioion in comparison to Eat Right.
Best bit is that they are also the only ones open for 7am breakfast.
Oh and the large is a double shot (notjust a single topped up with milk like some chains)

Elyse has a hilarious blog at: http://elysesewell.livejournal.com/

Not to hijack my own thread or anything...

Just to stay on topic, I will add that Toby's Estate is my absolute favourite coffee, I can't believe it's arrived in HK. I've had one cup from Eat Right and so far, so so SO good! Cinnamon: I would say definitely superior to Epoch.
