Stoob the Sunbeam EM6910 has a Steam wand ( for frothing milk ) and a hot water dispensing wand, for filling tea pots etc....

Also if you watch this video below, you'll notice that this machine can run the steam arm and extract an espresso pour, simultaneously.

I'm not sure about this claim that Antigua = 166. See here for more info

This sounds like a much better price than what I found at HK$1,400 for a stainless steel look of the Bodum Antigua.

Out of the box, both Solis 166 and Bodum Antigua do not grind fine enough for espresso. The tweak could affect the life of the grinder. I would incline to buy the one without additional mod with a possibility it will last longer.

Feima 600N (approx HK$900 at hkcoffee.com) can grind fine enough out of the box. The espresso from this grinder tastes OK to me. The footprint is around 12cm by 20cm.

Bob sorry mate, but regardless of what the Bodum sells for here in Hk at such a high local price. $1400 is ridiculously expensive btw, considering that the Bodum sells for between $85 - $127US everywhere else.

I saw the same Bodum grinder in La Fayette Paris last year for $99 Euro's. That was $990 HKD back then. I will be in Paris again in August, I'll be sure to check the prices while there.

Just for the sake of it, look at the prices listed here >>> bodum antiqua - Coffee Grinders - Compare Prices, Read Product Reviews, and Buy - Shopping.com

As I stated earlier, I'd still stick by the Sunbeam EMO480, at it's price point, it's one of the most consistent grinders, right out of the box. I am sure what you have chosen suits you Bob, and there are probably 30 other grinders out there in the $700 - $1200hkd range that also perform equally well....

That's why I bought Solis 166.

I don't do espresso and moka pot at home so it's just OK for my filtered coffee.

Talking about pricing, I saw Zassenhaus coffee mills at Great around HK$800 vs. US$70-80 in the US. Its sturdiness blew other manual mills away by a light year. But the price!

What would be cool to know, is what every bodies dream espresso machine and grinder combination is. Price of no consideration of course, and we had a kitchen large enough to accommodate primo cafe gear.

For me, Elektra's Belle Epoque, with their matching brass copper commercial grinder, would be my first choice....

That's just my ideal, a real Italian traditionalists espresso machine, something you'd appreciate/enjoy for a life time.

What would you go for Bob? I reckon you'd be a bit of a La Marzocco man, but could be wrong .

Wow! Skyhook, Elektra's Belle Epoque is very nice.

Actually, I'm not an espresso fan but, you're right, LM GS3 will definitely jump start my espresso journey.

However, I prefer to have an easier access to various good coffees like Cup of Excellence - Award Winning Gourmet Coffee in our neck of the wood. Hopefully, one day we have a vendor that focuses on very high quality coffee like this in Hong Kong.

Hi there,
Is the HK Coffee meetup still on for the 19th? Do you have room for 1 or 2 more?

I bring bribes.

I haven't had a chance to e-mail Landy yet. Well, I've had a chance, but I've been lazy. I'll do it right now and report back.
