I think it may be from the pollution but I dont know...
Anyone out there have a decent eye doctor they can recomend? My eyelids are sore and swollen and red...probably pink eye I think. The worst part is...I get married tomorrow...going to love those pictures!!!

Hi jlongboard,

I have been in HK for 6 months and had this problem numerous times. Maybe also due to the pollution.

Sometimes the infection goes by itself, but once I needed surgery. It is a fairly simple operation and all better by the next day. They cut the inside of the eyelid to drain the infection so little visible scarring.

Other thing I have been told to try are a hot face cloth several times a day - hot salty water is best, and also a hot boiled egg. I think the egg idea is the same thing as the face cloth but it retains the heat for far longer so better treatment.

There are also various eye drops, ointments and tablets which I have been given, but very hard to tell what works.

I use the eye clinic in Dr Vio's offices, Prince's Bld, Central tel 25213302

And hey Happy Wedding.

Hottie

hottie,
Thanks for the number and the advice, an egg huh? I heard of a steak for a black eye but never an egg for something like this. (I am actually boiling one now...)
I bought some drops yesterday. They seem to lower the swelling a bit.
Thanks again.

Well, I went to the doc. right after the wedding was done. I got some drops and the hot washcloth treatment. All better now.
Yes I will be needing photoshop to fix a few pics...
