I was wondering what the difference in price is if you rent a furnished apartment vs. an unfurnished one. I'm not looking for an expensive, short term, hotel-like apartment but for something with at least a decent kitchen, so I can keep the stuff I take with me from home to a minimum.

I doubt if there will be much of a difference in rent if the place you're looking for is furnished. I suppose it really depends on the locality. It may vary between $200- 1000. Most owners don't provide good furniture for tenants to use anyway, so your best bet is to get some locally.
