Hi there,
I'm a Welsh fella flying into Hong Kong Easter Friday and heading out Easter Monday which gives me 48 hours to shop!! I am after a nice quality suit (for my wedding) and a Canon 70-300 IS USM lens.(might buy an IPOD too!!!) Want great value I suppose and know there's heaps of places on Nathan Rd but are they too good to be true?
I plan to spend one day in Shenzen so would love to know exactly where to get the above items.
Also looking for a hostel or cheap place to stay?

Since the wedding the have basically outfitted my entire family in business wear as well and my family lives in the USA. Typically Ricky and Peter send them some swatches by mail and they decide then what they want...I think they may even send their sizes as well but I know Ricky and Peter have the sizes on record too!

hey jutaylor,

you have picked up the right vibe in regards to nathan rd shops, steer clear. if something stuffs up, the warranty wont be there for you.

there are a few threads on this site regarding good legit dealers.. do a search using the search forums tab to the left of the screen..

Anyone know the price of a Canon 20D in HK?

there are a few more popular places, one from memory was coxell's booth on HK side, also a few in stanley st. apart from stanley st, i haven't been to these places yet, as all i can do is window shop at present and it just makes me feel bad to see these cool toys that i can't get my hands on yet...

but yes, do avoid nathan rd. the prices are great... as the saying goes, if it looks too good to be true... you know the rest...

Avoid Nathan Road and also TST and Causeway bay, you know those shops that don't actually have any prices displayed on the products in the window, They'll screw you for sure.

you can try the camera shop in the Tung Ying Shopping Arcade on Nathan road....it is a good shop...reasonable prices ...a photographers shop . Also well known for reasonable equipment is the Wing Shing Photo shop in Mong Kok .
