Need Advice on Finding Apartment in Soho, Hollywood Road Area

I am moving to Hong Kong in a few months. Lived before on Peel Street in a serviced apartment.
Now moving all my furniture and would like to find a 1 bedroom apartment-800-900 sq.feet.
Would like to live in Soho, Hollywood Road area.

Do not want High Rise Buildiings- Looking for more character- high ceilings, hard wood floors etc.
Can you recommend where I can see listings for apartments in this area?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Any real estate agents specializing in this area?
What price ranges?
Any small buildings you would recommend?

Thanks

Hollywood Road / Soho has many older buildings with the style you're looking for, but they tend to be quite small. For a listing of places check out www.gohome.com.hk. Good luck!

YOu might have to adjust your expectations of a 1 bedroom apartment.

Yeah, gohome is a good place to start the research. Also, there are a fair number of estate agents on the escalator who should have listings that are not on gohome

Finding 1-bedroom apartments of that size to rent is incredibly difficult... Pretty much anything above 500sq.ft has 2 bedrooms, and above 700 sq.ft has 3, unless they have been customised by a gwailo (but those are like gold-dust).

It could be two bedrooms- instead of one-would use one as an office.
I could also come down on the square feet.

Are there any loft type of apartments in this area?

Does South China Morning Post advertise apartment listings?

Also if I cannot find a low rise- are there any new nice high rises in Soho area ?

Thanks for your help.

There a heaps of estate agents on Caine and Robinson Roads in Soho but probably best to book your self into a serviced apartment and walk the neighbourhood - there are lots of notices in doorways from people wanting to rent their place or check out the classified in HK Magazine, that way you save on the agent fee. I found all the agents wanted to show me were expensive places that pretty much all looked the same.

I assume ur going to find a suitable place first b4 lugging down all ur furniture. In which case a few days - a week spent in Hk with good estate agents will surely give u results.

Thanks for the information

Thank you everyone for your information.
I still wanted to know if there is a place to look on line for apartments in that area?
Also, if there are any high rises in the Soho area - if I cannot find a low rise apartment.
Thanks
