Recommended photography galleries?

Hello,

And happy Lunar New Year.

I'm new here and wondered if I could ask.

Can anyone recommend any interesting photographic galleries in Hong Kong?

I know of traditional art galleries as well as modern places. Would love to hear.

There can't be much interest in this side of the arts - judging by the lack of views and interest. Oh well, I'll find something else

sorry don't know of any purely photographic galleries, but most dealor galleries in HK have one or a number of artists who use photography/are photographers. Art Statements has a lot of photographic artists, Hanart Gallery, Plum Blosson etc etc. Grab an Artmap (most galleries or museums stock them) and just do a tour, there are also non-commercial places like Cattle Depot/1A which has exhibitions of phtography.

Hi Maverick,

Do you mean "The Fringe Club" at the top of Wyndham Road?

Thanks for your replies - any other recommendations?

The Fringe Club just had a festival, some intersting things, gigs/plays/comedy. The gallery always a mixed bag so really entertaining, wide variety of programme. There's loads around to do, two weekends ago there was 'Fotanian' - artists warehouse studios open to public. HK Magazine (weekly freebie) has listings, good reviews of shows also in Standard newspaper weekend magazine pullout.
If people are really keen on contemporary asian art, there's the Asian Art Archive. Great library, nice people, artbooks, catalogues and videos to look at - u can easily spend a day
