Ummm why don't you ask your question on this site:

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/

I'm sure there will be some Pilots there that can help...

why don't you contact an airline and ask them?

to be a pilot it doesn't matter, but to be a defence or airline pilot it may. ask an expert! email the airline recruiting officers?

It depends on what airline you are referring to.
For Cathay, having done the lasik is no guarantee, however, there're candidates who have done the surgery and don't get in, but some do every now and then, it depends on different situations...really.

The information given from CX career page is a bit misleading, a cadidate can have eyes corrected to 20/20, there's a guy with 800 degrees in the training school for Cathay.

If you have further questions, you can ask directly, phone Cathay or Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department or search for further information on pprune.com

Lasik

Hi,
As a Cathay pilot myself I can tell you that they do not accept pilots who had Lasik treatment. The reason is that the long term effects are not really known yet(sic).
