My PC blew up over the weekend and I would like to get it fixed. Does anyone know of any shop/org in HK who will come and pick up my PC and fix the thing ???

As far as how bad it is, hard to say, damned thing won't even start. Basically the power blew in our apartment on Saturday and I think it shorted out the PC at the same time with a power surge.

Any particular shop in Wan Chai you can recommend ?

Avoid the clowns at Universal Computer in Wanchai Computer Center (second floor) at all costs .. f'ers reformatted a hard drive when they were specifically told to just change the case and power supply.

Language problem - Chinese whispers? Nevertheless did you get a purchase order detailing the work required? And why don't you do that kind of work inhouse?

Complete cock up on their part. My work order said ... "Replace motherboard and case". Their tech said "we thought you wanted to reformat the drive".

No time ... figured it was just easier to have someone else do it .. famous last words "no one can really mess something this simple up".

They're still calling me to come over and return some manuals / cd-roms which were packed along with the computer ... they put the wrong ones into my package. I'm not exactly in the best of moods to rush back to Wanchai right now ..
