Another citizen landing in HK - Brazil

Hi there, first of all the website and forum is pretty useful for anyone interested or living in HK. Please let me introduce myself: I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and I have been admitted to full time MBA at HKUST. The point is that my prograam begins on early August, and since I have quit my job, I would like to move to HK asap. For that I am thinking of an intensive immersion into Mandarin and Cantonese. I have checked some links in this page, but I am still not secure about the Language Schools, some of them seem to be “small” and I really don t trust in their website. Can anyone help me over this issue? Any recommendation? Beside this, is there anyone studying at HKUST? Or any alumni?
Thanks in advance and I really hope to contribute to the forum.

Welcome to HK It's good to know that you'd like to learn some Cantonese / Mandarin first, as it'd help you enjoy the best in our city lives

You may wanna take a look at this link from Chinese University of Hong Kong:
http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/clc/sum06.htm
I heard from my American friends before that they taught quite well. Usually it won't take too long to handle basic language skills if you learn with then, but of coz I don't know it for sure :P

Have fun and see ya later!

Cheers, Blom

Thanks a lot, I took a look at the website and already contacted them!

I will also make a try with people from HKLLC (Hong Kong Language LEarning Centre).

What about the other question, is there anyone studying in HKUST???
