Shanxx - go on Sunday - it was top-class, fabulous (yes I managed it last minute - also great seats - though it was standing on the seats all the way). Unlike our Neil Young concert (which in a different sense was even better, harder and with stronger edge). One look at the superlative Bobby Keys on tenor-sax and Bill Clinton would have quickly changed the subject of jamming.

Yeah the Neil Young concert was fabulous. What gave me the goose-pimples was how he changed gears , from a scorching, ripping start with high-octane numbers like "Love to Burn", "Rock n Roll will never die" and "Freedom" to a soft soulful, accoustic persona mid-concert with "Heart of Gold" , "Harvest Moon", "Cinnamon Girl" and then back to the frenzy of "Like a Hurricane". His finish with " Keep on Rocking in the Free World" was maniacal. The man was almost in a trance, belting it out with all the energy of his three awesome decades.

Finest moment for me: during "Harvest Moon" the lights dimmed and Young's Harmonica soared, the moon came out from the clouds and shone on the harbour and the entire audience sang in unison. And, incredibly for Hong Kong, not a single cellphone was ringing.

That to me was a truly magical moment.
