Lightbulb I want to study Fashion Design in English... but can't find any!!

Hi all,

I'm really keen to study Fashion Design, except most universities and schools are teaching it in a mix of Cantonese and English.

I'm looking for a 1-2 year diploma course to equip me with basic skills as i have plans to set up a business in this field. I have a masters in marketing, with no prior education in fashion. However i do have a burning interest to persue fashion, thus am taking a big step in this.

I need a good fashion school to start off, which uses English as their medium of instruction.

Would be definitely hopeful if anyone could help!

Cheers!

IQ Balls, have you tried contacting Hong Kong Polytechnic University? They are well known in HK for the quality of their teaching. They are located in TST East.

Thanks Ramen.
I've tried calling them and all their fashion courses are taught 50% in cantonese 50% in english .... sigh....

I've even tried calling the embassies to ask... seems like a dead end.

I'm close to tears

Do you need to study in HK?

I did a degree in Fashion Design with Technology at Manchester Met. in the UK

They also do one and two year courses which sound exactly what you are after.

I wish i didn't but my husband will be working here for the next 2 years. My friend did a similiar course with TAFE in Sydney which i really wanted to enrol, but that was before we needed to relocate.

I've tried every possible mean to find the course in English, but Hong Kong just don't have it. I'm surprised it's so cosmopolitian yet no school is offering a full time program on this

There indeed is a short course available for 10 weeks. I found the course too while visiting their website - Thanks heaps Cherry_coke!

But i really want to do a comprehensive diploma / 1-year course that'll bring me somewhere. I want to know more indepth about fashion designing and everything i can get my hands on for the next 1 year.

Sorry to be picky, but i really am in need of a good school
