how much do you need to sponser your partner?

My wife in HK is going to sponsor me, but we are worrying that she doesn't have enough income to sponsor me.

our situations are followed:
her monthly income: $10k, she's got accomadation for us.
she's a HK permant resident and I am a NZ citizen (permant resident).

Do you think it's possible?? any comments & suggestions are appreciated!

As far as I know permanent residents do not have to show a major income stream.

There have been several cases in the courts which may be of interest to you.

[edited] I might have misread the judgement [/edited]

Take a look here http://legalref.judiciary.gov.hk/cgi-bin/lrs/search.pl and search for "permanent resident" and "income" and "dependant"

You'll see some test cases which have gone in both directions.

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried the link you've provided, there's no search results for "permanent resident", and I've tried just "income" and "depenant", those results didn't make too much sense to me.

are you possible to copy and paste the results you've found?

Thanks!
