Apple Products and outlets

i have a powerbook
and my gf has a powerbook too

i am trying to find out what to do to charge these things safely.

currently we are using our original powerbook power-cords, but we have removed the outlet side of the cord at the white box found in middle.

we then plug a HK plug into the white box, and plug into an outlet in wall.

i was told this is fine to do, however i am worried because it seems like the white box on power-cord is getting very warm, and our powerbooks seem to be having wierd issues lately.

when we rub them with our hands....it vibrates like its gonna explode.

the white box says:
Input AC 100-240V
output 24.5V

am i fuggin our books up?

and where can i find an apple power-cord with the HK end?

all of the apple stores I've been to here sell the world travel kit, but it is only the plug, not the cord. so i would put the plug on the white box, and lose the extra length of the cord. kind of tough to do when using a laptop and need extra length.

fuey is on a distinguished road
100-240V means you can plug it in safely anywhere in the world and dont need a step up or step down transformer as your adaptor handles averything for you.

If you feel though your having issues and want to get some ease of mind, you may want to get things checked at an apple shop. Faulty power cords is not impossible.

No, it is 220V (with a tolerance of +/- 6%), and 50Hz (+/- 2%).

Well if they didn't they wouldn't be real Mac's now would they!

I would go to a Mac shop and double check- there are a few round town depending on where you are. There is one in IFC centre, two on Stanley Street in central, one in Windsor House with the service centre in Times Square for Causeway Bay and another in Wanchai computer Centre. I'm not sure where they are on the dark side but i presume there are some Mac users in Kowloon!
I took mine to the Apple repair place in Times Square and they were quite good.
