Hey all,

Encountering serious troubles with my computer. Installed games and installation went smooth, however when I get around to trying to play, it always says "---.exe has encountered a problem and has to close." It happens for every game that is fullscreen. Sometimes the message doesn't even pop up, but once I double click the exe file, my computer restarts or switches off. My com won't let anything fullscreen load.

I don't know whats wrong and I tried searching online for help but to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Legal game or dodgy copies?

I'd strongly recommend doing a spyware scan using Search and Destroy Bot.

Check that you have the correct display/video driver installed. Right-click on the desktop and choose properties. Then go to Settings and Advanced and make sure that the brand and model of adapter card detected is correct.

what game is it?

have you checked the publishers website to see if there are any patches available.

also always a good idea to do a search on google or wherever to see if the game has any fan forums as these usually feature solutions to these kind a problems.

Basically its prob a hardware configuration/ requirement problem or a corrupted file. One thing thats been linked with a lot of problems with new games is the supposedly evil 'starforce' protection system... the jury is still out on that one though...

Try "rewinding" back your date with "RESTORE" -

No - NOT the restore disk(s). And then try a re-install of your games program.

Also advise using router at all times, and a Firewall - like Zone ALarm - and run Trendmicro.com's free on line "nasties" scan. Be aware - it takes a Looong time to transfer all the ID files first time....
