Exclamation Relocating to HK -- Please advise :)

Hi Ladies & Gents,

I just got offered a RE (asset management / acquisition) job in either Hk or Shanghai after 6 months at corporate in US. I don't know where I'll end up but it's either of those two and I'm going to focus on HK for the purpose of this conversation. The offer is approximately US $80/yr transferable to Asia (HK/Shanghai). I just got the offer so I'll be doing some negotiating. My questions is whether that's a low # for someone w/ MBA and 4-5 yrs of US real estate experience, 7-8 yrs total experience, in Asia. Secondly, I've heard Hk will tax 15% GI but anyone know much Uncle Sam will take, if any? Also, I've heard rent for Single guy can cost up to 20%. Is this true? Lastly, how much should I negotiate for relocation, if they pay at all, and other items? I appreciate all relevant info you can provide as far as Salary, Tax, Rent , Relocation, and any other topics of interest. Also, feel free to forward me any info you may have as my position applies to Shanghai. Please feel free to email me at peij73@yahoo.com. Thanks and Happy New Year.

Jonathan
