Smile ICC World Cup - INDIA V/s ENGLAND

Hello all you cricket fans!

The World Cup seems to be gaining good momentum and a huge game is in the offing this wednesday....India V/s England and it promises to be one hell of a match! A day night game...into the wee hours of the morning...

why not get together and watch this match and cheer India on to the super sixes! and heck if you are a English Fan or for some reason arent supporting India...join us anyway...we love good competition...support should be even for both sides!

We could get together at Delaneys either in TST or Wanchai...to watch the match on the big screen and create a MID WEEK MAYHEM of our own!!

What say???

Cheers,

Hiten

Hey Hiten

Hate to say this but I'm having a terrible week so tomorrow evening is a qs mark for me. But if I do manage to get out by 7 pm I'll give you a buzz. If not tomorrow, we'll definitely watch Super Six together

So how was it at Delaney's last night? From the comfort of home, I could only guess - but how quiet did the English contingent go?

HKF,

Delaney's was much more than great, esp. seeing the 'Indian batting order' doing its job.

During Indian innings, it was all jampacked with desis and angrezees, with middle fingers being exchanged at appropriate occasions like 10dulkar hitting a six and 10dulkar gettin out etc. etc. etc.

Later esp. after Nehra struck and the 'aaaya ram gayaa ram' happening, at Delaney's we were all jumping and they were all simply GONE!

Guys, wat abt the saturday IND-PAK rendezvous?

We (the ones at Delayney's laasnite) are for sure getting up again to help India put up an even better performance: at Delaney's or Viceroy. Join us for obvious reasons, the more the merrier :-)

cheers

-abhi

an interesting way to start March 1st

HERE'S a treat for gourmets, foodies and amateur cooks. But which, unfortunately, is up for grabs only to 25 people. Jafferbhai Mansuri, the Delhi Darbar restaurateur, is demonstrating how to make the Mutton Biryani his restaurant is popular and famous for. He's spending an exclusive Afternoon with UpperCrust at Dinesh Khanna's The Club on Saturday, March 1. Jafferbhai will show why he is known in Bombay as the Biryani King.

Actually, he's cooking for our Farzana Contractor as part of the Women's Week celebrations at The Club. We are inviting 25 readers to join in this biryani workshop. Jafferbhai will bring Basmati rice, he will bring the choice cuts of mutton (with bone and without bone), he will carry with him those burnt, brown onion strands known as birasta, and he will supply pyaaz of freshly-cut onion rings and green lime quarters. All you have got to do is call up this office (22871616, 22872312) today before 5 p.m., ask for Bernadette D'Silva, and register yourself. Hope you are among the first 25 callers!

A word about Jafferbhai. If you are a Delhi Darbar patron (who is not, in Bombay!), then you will be familiar with the authentic and outstanding Mughlai food on its menu. Well, Jafferbhai can prepare everything on it right upto the caramel custard and bread halwa. His children (who will accompany him to The Club on Saturday) swear that his cooking style is so distinctive, they can taste a biryani and tell if Jafferbhai has made it! He's also cooking a chicken dish and dessert. After the demo, we shall eat the food! Then go home and watch India play Pakistan at the World Cup.

"Then go home and watch India play Pakistan at the World Cup"

GO HOME to watch an INDIA / PAK match...now come on KK!!! There

Anyway...HKF to answer your query...abhi pretty much nailed it....the support was pretty much even - stevens while India batte, but then gradually faded away as Nehra did the Eagle Dance....6 times...the English contingent diminishing by the minute....

Anyway..Now comes the Big one INDIA / PAKISTAN....HUGE MATCH....and there is no way that this should be watched at Home! Viceroy might actually end up being a better venue, despite its shortcomings, as the atmosphere ther might be more electric! Delaney's----India / England...yes.... India / Pakistan...maybe not!

Lets get the BHARAT ARMY is full flow!

Cheers,

Hiten

I certainly have no intention of going home to watch THE match-especially since I'm not connected to the WC channel.

Thats what the reporter from AD&C plans to do. After a plateful of Jafferbhai's biryani, I think a nap would be in order defintley not the prospect of surving the mother of all grudge matches.

Viceroy sounds very nice but possibly a quiet country pub in Sai Kung might prove more salubrious

Don't know a bit eearly to say.
