| | | the only real safety issue here are your neighbors, who'll gladly torture you 24/7 with a variety of noises you never even imagined possible. aside from that, it's a nice place to live, honest... | |

| | | if you are worry, you can always mark down the "taxi number" and "driver's name"
and report to friends of your where-about when you get on the taxi, leave the taxi, on the way home..
transportation is safe.
the only way you may have worry is the walk back home
**try not to take "very quiet" and "very dark" road.
choice the best route that has the brightest light, and frequent traffic pass-by.
**or you can leave message here everynight to ask one of us to drive you home..haha

| | HK is as safe as it can get esp on HK side. If your scared leaving work late at nite call a taxi and have it waiting by the door. Quickly into taxi and out at home and into ya bed.

| | | Well, I thought Hong Kong was a pretty safe place, until a friend of mine got mugged in Central recently on Sunday afternoon...
I guess, white-skinned foreigners live a bit safer and are treated better by the police in case something happens.
My friend was asked: "What are you doing in Central on a Sunday afternoon, while you actually live in the New Territories?"

| | | i got jumped once in HK after about 8 months of living here... It happened on the stairs going up to hollywood road from lkf (the dimly lit ones that used to connect to the open air stairs next to stormy's). Mind you, this was like 4am, i was piss drunk, and the kid trying to mug me was like 13 MAX, I didnt feel so threatened. He had a swiss army knife and was shaking like a leaf hahahaha...
On a safety scale, 7 if you take it for granted, 9 if you have a semblance of awareness.

| | | HK is probably the safest city ever. I grew up here and lived in New York, London and Toronto for spells and trust me I hardly ever feel unsafe. I routinely stay out on the weekends until 4 or 5 am and walk around on my own to get home on occasion. Just be smart, don't pick fights, and don't be a stupid drunk yelling out to dodgy looking people. If you're not abrasive, you'll probably be left alone.
During the day there are so many people around that its hard to feel unsafe. I'd say the main issue is probably pickpocketing, but even then i've never had a problem. Lived in HK for 22 years and have had no problems. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 04:42 PM.
