I've learnt the others are experiencing a faster speed after the upgrade, but it's the opposite for me. I'm one of those antiques who is still using a modem. Painfully slow for me, esp when I'm submitting a thread, during the busy hours, seems like the world has stopped, no response even i'm clicking my mouse non-stop.

What sort of computer do you have? Chances are .. it is the javascript that is slowing it down. Do you see the pages load slowly when you load a thread or a classified or someother part of the site?

Our pages are on an average 20% smaller in size compared to the previous version.

I'm using a Windows XP with AMD Athlon processor. The fonts are larger than before the upgrade, the page as a whole is loaded very slowly. When more than 1 person is submitting a reply, esp to the same thread, then the button just has no response, takes mins to submit the thread.

Valencia -- I have spent a good two hours last night trying to track down what could be causing the slowdown.

Will follow up with some questions in another thread to see if this is a larger problem or specific to your situation.

When on the classifieds going through the pages it doesnt say anywhere what page you are currently on... just a little annoying

Thanks for your time and effort, KIA. You took two hours to figure out my problem, I'm moved. Btw, why is this smilie keeps hidden? It's the most frequently used one.

I've been thinking it's a speed problem because I'm using a modem. I think most people are using broadband. The more users, the slower the speed with a website, esp during busy hours. I'm thinking of changing to broadband, maybe soon.

Fixed. (Something that I had wanted to do for a while .. but no one reminded me)
