Hi All

I've arrived in HK and hoping to find a permanent job. Does anyone know of any job agencies that caters specifically for Westerners looking for work ?

Are there agencies you can recommend based on previous experience ?

FYI, I work in the IT area (security and e-commerce), have previous HK experience (2 years), can speak some Cantonese and Mandarin and have a Masters Degree.

Anyone out there know of someone looking to hire a person (me!) with the above skills ?

None of the ones that I know specialize in racial placements. What you need is a competant head hunter who will place you for your skills.

Depending on your experience and what you want to do (work for a user in a specific vertical, vendor or consultancy) there are several specialist head hunters. Then there are some exclusive ones.. which, if you have to ask, you don't qualify.

They seem to do a fair amount of work and have placed a couple of people I know, in fairly senior positions.

As I said .. if you have to ask, you don't qualify. The exclusive ones work only on recommendations.

Ranjan Marwah is one of those folks who works exclusively on 'C' level placements and getting him to meet with you will need an act of god and a refferal from someone he has worked with.
