just a detail, you don't get 20% pension fund in SG.
cos more than half of it is contributed from your pay anyway.

so essentially u get an extra 10~13% from your employer to help pay for your mortage if you have one.

in hk the pension portion varies depending on the company. u can use the mpf system that u and your employer each contribute 1k HKD (or lesser, % of pay) to your pension account, or some companies allow more flexible payment where the employer maybe pay up to 5% of your monthly pay.

essentially, u can take home most of the pay.

and also, note that unless u are someone they absolute want to have, else u'd have to compete with the salary demand of locals... they won't have rent to pay...

true true, I have to compete with locals if I want to remain in the financial industry and theres no way I can afford a 40% salary drop to what I was on in London. Had to retrain and do something else now I can get more than what I was on in London!

There's a Singaporean Association you can join for HKD 100 per annum. Joining fee is another similar amount - can't remember. They arrange once a month Happy Hour at the Conrad, and socials as well e.g. I joined their junk cruise to Lantau in Dec.

congratulations,

your package is quite good...at the age of 23rd you earned double more than the HK locals. many of my HK local friends in 25-26s are still earning 10k-15k.

wished a good boss like yours will give me an offer someday..haha..
