Shuttle XPC kit - where's best?

I'm planning a new Shuttle system for after Christmas. Does anyone know where the widest selection of their equipment can be found at reasonable prices - ideally on the island, but am happy to head for Kowloon too if necessary

I've not really noticed many of them in the various Wan Chai computer centres - maybe I'm blind?!

Wanchai computer center is at 130 Henessey Road, right outside the MTR.

There is another big one at 298 Hennessey.

Both have boatloads of computer stuff.. I'm sure you will be able to find components or a whole PC there.

Wes - I've been to both centres in Wan Chai several times. I'm specifically after the Shuttle Small Form Factor equipment though - just wondered if others here had seem them around...

Oh.. sorry.. misread the original post.

I have seen shuttle cases in these centres before... can't tell you exactly where, though.. I get in there and it's like a maze to me.

Thanks Guys - and Wes - turns out I was blind! The 2nd floor of the centre on Hennessey Road (the one not near the MTR) had a couple of places - even one that offered a reasonable price on the amazing new SD11G5 (Pentium M based). I'm looking to build a new HTPC and this looks just the ticket as its as close to silent as you can get in a SFF PC. A post-Christmas present perhaps - unless Apple release a new Mac Mini with S/PDIF out...

PhilE, I've recently been interested in an SFF pc too. Do you mind posting details and costs at some point so that I can get a handle on the idea?

db - no problem, but am about to head for the airport for our 2 week manic tour of relatives in the UK so won't be up to much dialogue on this til jan

In short, I have a 2-year old Shuttle currently (model SN41G2, with AMD 2100+ processor) that I use with a plasma and AV amp for home cinema, playing torrent'd files, iTunes etc and when in the UK, was also used with a DigiTV DVB card for Freeview. Add a remote keyboard and mouse and its great fun.

However, despite replacing various fans its still a bit noisy to leave on all the time so was looking for something virtually silent. Came across the SD11G5 chassis and motherboard and got a quote from Silicon Technology Company (Shop 205, 1/F, 298 Hennessey - Tel 25720368) for HKD 4200, plus a Pentium M 1.7GHz for HKD 1870 - not cheap! Do a google for the model number and look at Hexus or Sudhian websites that specialise in SFF for reviews etc. There are much cheaper models if silence isn't a requirement - and Shuttle have a great reputation for build etc. You can pick up flyers from the above company to get other model prices too.

HTH, Phil

I usually buy my stuff from jumbo computers in Mongkok. The rest of the site is in Chinese, but go to http://www.jumbo-computer.com/pricelist/pricelist.asp for the pricelist

Recently picked up a SK21G for home/internet/word processing use - very silent, and looks great - total came out to $3750 for the box, Sempron 2500+, 1GB ram, 80Gig hard drive...

I've also built a couple of SN45Gs before. Currently my primary desktop system is a SN25P w/ 7800GTX Shame that I use my T43 more...

Personally I think Shuttle's are great for small HK apartments, but they *do* come at a price premium.
