moving to NZ

Hi the family and I are looking to relocate to New Zealand does anyone have an idea on the cost of shipping a 1/2 container to NZ and can anyone recommend a moving company.

get a few quotes. The cost will depend on how much you have that is fragile and requires a lot of packing.

I would say about USD3000.

Look in the yellow pages and call companies like Santa Fe, Asian Tigers etc. and get them to give you quotes.

Check freight forwarders / consolidators... find out which shipping lines service the port you want to send your stuff to ie auckland/wellington/lyttleton/dunedin etc. then find out who represents those shipping lines in hong kong.

Another way is to talk to freight handlers in NZ (check NZ yellow pages) at the port you are shipping to.. They will help you with customs clearance MAF local transport etc.
