Earlier this year I appreciated the advise on giving Lai Sei for building security staff, etc. for Chinese New Year, but how do we deal with Christmas & "Western" New Year? Do we give them red envelopes as well or buy Christmas gift or just ignore it till Chinese New Year rolls around again? What's the rule of thumb? Thanks

If you are feeling generous perhaps a red packet for Christmas. No need to do it for the "Western" New Year. And as usual do it for Chinese New Year.

No need for lai sees to bldg security staff during Christmas, just CNY. But you can get something for office staff e.g. a big team lunch, bodyshop goodies or other trinkets for the support staff. It's just the thought really.
