What is the profile of your husband? If he has some work experience and wants to work in the same field he shouldn't have a problem. If he can speak mandarin and/or cantonese it should be easy to get a job.

If look at the recruiter page of HKU it is not as good as HKUST. Even some employers in HK only talk to HKUST students and studets from overseas programs.

Thanks Panda for the reassurance. He's a Channel Sales manager with a major telco company in Spore. And yup, he can speak English, mandarin and cantonese fluently. He's thinking of checking out the universities in late August when he gets to HK. We'll see what happens and if the opportunity costs is worthwhile.

That's what I thought so too for my husband. Freeier, how serious are you about doing your mba?

let's put it this way, interested definitely i am.
money wise its not possible i have to earn my livings here.
if i were to quit job to do mba, makes lots more sense to go back sg for that.
if its a good program that's part time, then i'd be very very interested.

and lastly, there isn't a push factor. my job nature really doesn't need me to do anything other than work hard and earn money for the company. no extra benefit. i'm not at the entree level needing a good paper to get into a good job either...

so...
well...
that about sums it all

Yup, understand what you mean. In a way, my husband might be in the same situation as you.

Given the profile of your husband he might as well look for a job first and then do the MBA part time if the opportunity costs are too high. Or he might even consider the emba program, however this is very expensive.

Freeier, for me, it's called payback time! I went to Sydney to do my masters full time last year while poor husband had to slog real hard. So now, it is his turn....Actually, it was real hard not having an income last year, no shopping....But it was a good break from work as well. I had some time to spend with my best friend who lived in Sydney too

Panda, we're not sure with the employees' market in HK at the moment and therefore we're not willing to take the risk of him quitting and looking for a job in HK. He much rather do the emba. Cost is a factor but he has already plans to do his masters and therefore is willing to part with that expense.
