Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for phuket or ko samui?? I"m looking for somewhere cheap but clean and comfy, as I'm sure most of the time is spent on the beach. Is it packet there during CNY? Any places that are less crowded but still pretty?

I've been told that the Sheraton down in Phuket is really nice. It out on the quiet north part of the area. Kind of pricy though, but from what I've seen, most of the larger/nicer resorts are in the same price range.

Can't help with Koh Samui - I won't be there until later this month and since I'm with a tour, I have no clue where I'm staying.

Sheraton is part of laguna phuket resort. Undeniable a good resort - good for family or couple. or checkout Mom Tri's boat house if you are looking for romantic, quite getaway. Otherwise checkout those hotel in Patong beach area for the lively and colourly nightlife. Check this out http://www.phuket.com/
