Visa waiver, but with HKID? On my next trip back, I'll technically be entering on a visa waiver / 90 day US passport entrance to HK as my dependent visa has expired. It's not a big deal as I'm only around for a few weeks, but I had kind of a procedural question. Can I enter, at the airport, through the HKID line (eventhough it was only conditional and the condition has expired), or do I go with the rest of the visitors to the other line? Should I go to the other line just to be safe (so they don't think I'm living across the border kind of thing, back and forth)

I would say that "resident" means "current resident" so you should be in the visitors' line.

I have the same situation, I have a HKID, which was conditional, and the condition (student visa) has expired. Though if I return for other than studies or work I would enter on my US Passport and get a visa waiver. I am reluctant to enter the HKID line or the Resident line with my HKID as I think it has techincally expired, though no expiration date is listed so I use it plenty as form of ID for other purposes.
