Horizon Plaza

What is the best way to get to Horizon Plaza? Any buses from Central? Also, what do we tell the taxi driver if we take a taxi? Finally are taxis readily available to come back to Central?
Thanks.

I've seen buses to Ap Lei Chau but I've only ever gone to the main bus station under the IFC and caught a bus to Aberdeen - when the bus pulls into a little terminal/layby (its not the end of the line) we get off and get a taxi to Ap Lei Chau. Just say Horizon Plaza and the dirvers know where to go and it costs $15. To come back there are always taxi that are dropping people off but they get a bit scarce the later it gets in the day. It costs about $140 to get back by taxi.

So if we take Bus#90 to Ap Lei Chau, where should we get off to get a taxi to Horizon Plaza? Last stop?? Taxi of $140 each way to Central seems to negate any savings, so want to take a bus if possible.

There are also plenty of busses heading to Horizon Plaza.... South Horizons, Ap Lei Chau, Lei Tung Estate etc... You can take them all, but I think only the South Horizons Bus goes directly to Horizon Plaza though, for the other ones: Get off in Ap Lei Chau and take a taxi. All drivers should understand Horizon Plaza...

To go to Aberdeen first doesn't make much sense!

Also pay attention on the opening hours, the shops close at around seven, so no chance for night hunters... ;-)

Note: A taxi from Central costs 90$ - maximum. TO Ap Lei Chau it usually costs 70$ including the Aberdeen tunnel fee.

Great - thanks DavidD. Will try to find the South Horizons bus and save a taxi trip.

Maybe I got the taxi price a bit wrong - we got a cab home because we bought 2 pieces - not too big - the delivery fee was $150 so we took the taxi and took the stuff home with us and I remember it being worthwhile because it was less than the delivery fee - door to door and we got to have the stuff that day and didn't have the hassle of arranging a delivery time. Last time we bought up large and walked out with nothing which was kind of odd but by the time we finished it was late and we just wanted to get home, taxis were scarce so we shared with another person waiting so that was worthwhile too.

But if one isnt buying a lot of large items, the bus is a good option I would think. Any ideas how long is the walk from the bus stop to Horizon Plaza? Is it right near the building, or a few blocks away?

When you get off the bus on the island (end of the line) there is a cab rank next door that does a brisk business running people down to the Horizon Plaza. It is a bit of a walk, as the cab fare is usually 20 or 30 I think. It's also down a bit of a hill if I recall, so if you are walking back with purchases it might be annoying.

We usually bused over, caught a cab, and then on our return, would cab directly home to Kennedy Town for about $100 HK I seem to recall, maybe slightly less.

I've never been to South Horizon since I'm a Kowlooner. What are the attractions there?
