Anything but IKEA

We're in the process of furnishing our new flat and are looking for modern furniture comparable to the prices that IKEA offers. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Same case. Have a glance here : http://www.habitat-property.com/web%...at/page/d8.asp
in Furniture Shopping. Problem is I don't know whether they're expensive or not

G.O.D in Causesway bay is fairly comparible though its a lot more for some stuff in there its nicer!

Also Pricerite is cheap and sells furniture. There is a thread about this somewhere as we had the same problem - though still ended up getting some stuff from Ikea....

Try Hecom. Basically, their sofas are doing half prices. I like their children's sofas and blankets.

Depends entirely on your style but;

Pricerite - excellent value for money and usually free delivery - check out the redapple catalogue in the shops because not everything Pricerite has is on the shop floor.

Horizon Plaza - Ap Lei Chau - start at the top and take the stairs down because the lifts are laready busy - eat before you go - it can be a long visit.

HECOM - next to Jusco behind Ikea

Design Direct (or something like that) - 15th floor of Windsor House opp. Ikea in Causeway Bay

Ap Lei Chua may have a few things you like, and if you are furnishing your house you should definitely pay a visit. A dozen floors to walk through, so it can be pretty tiring if you are just browsing around instead of getting something very specific.

There are a couple of places on Queens Road Central and a few back behind Happy Valley that have some nice stuff. Again a bit of a walk, but if you are up for it you can certainly do better than Ikea (though not sure on price).

Totally forgot about Queens Road - I think its actually Queens Road East anyway in Wan Chai - some quite pricey places but heaps that custom make - we got out L shaped sofa for less that IKEA prices - we got exactly what we wanted - 2 weeks from ordering to delivery. The place was called Homephiles but there were lots - try quite a funky style place on the same side as the Hopewell centre not far from the little temple - they did lots of custom stuff.

They can basically make anything on Queens Road East. In fact many of them advertise "bring in the magazine picture" and we'll make it.

I can't remember the name of the place at Happy Valley, but if you start in the "lamp district" at the end of QRE and head down the 'backstretch' of the track almost all the way around, you'll pass a number of cool places, some with some funky pieces.
