I see so many of you are in shekou!!

I am supposed to move there beginning of 2006.
I have a 18 month baby, and I am 2 month pregnant

I know I will find anything I want in HK, but what about shekou? Is it easy to find diapers? bibs? nice clothes (not one of these open pants the chinese kids have!!)? nice furniture for the baby's room???

My husband will travel a lot so I will have to manage by myself.. and I don't feel confortable going in HK with my boy, being 6 month pregnant with this hot weather ... do you??

I'm trying to find someone moving or in Shekou. Seems like all the posts related to Shekou are from 2005. My family of 5 are moving there June 2008 for 1-2 years and I'm looking for information on everything.

I found this forum just this morning and have been reading some of your questions. I have two children, ages 14 and 8. We will be moving to Shekou this summer and the children will be attending SIS. We are also considering Jingshan Villas. We are currently living in Japan.
Have you visited Shekou yet and seen the property? We were in Hong Kong last week for holiday and did not take the time to go over. We are doing our house hunting and school visit the week of May 5. I would like to stay in touch as it seems we have children around the same age and it would be good to have a few play mates starting out. We were in Singapore in 2004-2006. Hello Netalah. I'm so excited to see your response today. Too bad it took me so long to see it. I'm not so familiar in how to use this site but I'm trying. Thanks for the warning ColinMartin about being ripped off. We likely will have our 3 boys go to QSI and live in Costal Rose Garden. My husband has been to Shekou a few times and met the director of QSI and really liked him. My husband also has an appartment already in Shenzhen but will be moving to Shekou because the whole family is now moving. The comany we are moving with is not big so the funds are more limited. I'm also looking for medical insurance information. I remember thinking the memership to the clinic was expensive. I'm giving up my sales career of 15 years and nervous about all this but ready for the challenge. How was your trip on May 5th? I look forward to hearing about it. Where are you from originally? How do we share personal emails which I too would like to do.
