| Dependent Spouse Visa My apologies if I'm asking something that has already been asked before, but my wife and I are relocating to Hong Kong soon. She will be getting sponsored through the company that is hiring her and I will be getting a dependent spouse visa. Does that enable me to work once I get there or will I need to be sponsored by an employer first? How big of a process is that? Thanks! |

| It has been answered many, many times before. But the short answer is no - dependents granted through virtue of a spouse with an Employment Visa do not have the right to work and would need to go through the same process as their spouse to get their own Employment Visa. If you can find an employer that has been through the process before then it's not really a big deal (a couple of forms and letters and a 4-6 week wait, but make sure you bring your educational certificates with you) - the tricky bit can be finding an employer who wants an expat, but that depends on what your field of work/expertise is. |
