Speaking of clothes sizes, it's not just shoes.

I need size 40 jeans and trousers. A lot of shops stop at 36 (mens). My last pair of long pants are from July 2004 when I went back to Sydney.

Check to see if your cellphone is unlocked (US) if you're bringing it. If not, get your provider to do it before you leave. If not you'll have to find someplace in Mong Kok or something to unlock it.

also: get a multiple-entry visa to China in the US, you can't do it here.

the above applies to US ppl

bring extra clothes/shoes if you are bigger!
