cerberus is an unknown quantity at this point.
stay or go

maybe this should be in the leaving hongkong forum...

anyway, on the one corner we have the land of civil liberties, wide open spaces, affordable cars and readily available porn, aka the US.

on the other, the home of lush hillsides, character-laden environs, noisy neighbors/people, an uncertain cultural heritage/future, and readily available porn, i.e Hong Kong, that most fragrant of ports.

surveying you guys as an extra measure...what would you choose?

thanks!

Well, currently I will vote for GO; especially if you are suffering from the NFL withdrawl symptoms.

Thats a pretty simplistic breakdown

It depends on whether you value place or activity more. I.e. whats more important - where you are or what you want to do?

Sounds simple, but often a short stint in a coffee house and an even shorter pros and cons list can make things clear.

There's more to the world than the US and HK but then having read quite a few of your posts over the last few months i'm sure you know this.

Sorry for you. I had an expat friend who was in a similar situation, having a breakdown because of noisy neighbours. She moved to another apartment in HK and got cured.

Sorry to hear that you are facing similiar problems like I do. However, I found a better place and I am proud of my new nest now in HK!

I do admit hk is not the perfect city to be in, but can u tell me if there r a perfect one?? The most important thing is what u have in hk now, and what u want in the future versus your 2nd option. For me, I choose hk.....for now anyway.

Agree with you, googoo. Frankly, my own fatherland is like a paradise to many people. Some even envy me being that nationality. However, I still love Hong Kong after all!

exactly...some people...some may think bad of it...depends on the individual. From my experience, I had good times in another country when I could not even imagine myself communicating with hk people...but here i am, lived in hk for 7 years. I love it even though I still have to endure the bad side of it, yet, i still misses my previous country.
