HK Employment Visa for Canadian

Dear all,

I am fresh graduate from Canada and has working in China for one year after finish school. Currently a HK listed company want to hired me, do I stand a chance of getting the visa?

I have double nationality both Taiwan and Canada, and I uses nationality of Taiwan to work in China, and I have already obtain a legal Chinese working visa. Would this be some help?

If anyone knows law firm or agency specialize in visa service, please advise me.

Thanks for your help!

But if the hk company want to hire you then they're the ones that have to apply for a work visa on your behalf.

As long as they can justify why they should hire you and not anybody local then you shouldn't have a problem, takes 4-6 weeks to go through the application process.

unfortunately you can't just obtain a work permit without a company sponsoring you in the first place.

Thanks for your answer,

With one years of working experiences, would that making a less change to pass?

How much would the fees be? Cause the company wants hire me in their Shenzhen office due visa problem, and they told me applying HK employment visa has too much additional cost. I would prefer pay the fee on myself.

Might be tough for you to get a permit based on you being a fresh graduate with a years experience, I have no idea as to what the fees would be to be honest.

Hi all,

Yes, it might be tough for you with just one year working experience, but it is better than nothing.

With no experience you would not have standed a chance, but I know one guy from France who did get his visa with one year experience only.

I would advise you to look for a consulting company to help you: emigra, landwell,...It helps.

Chris

From what I have heard from other people, the salary is an important factor in getting a work visa. If the monthly salary is at least HK$20K (per month) then you should have no problem, regardless of experience. Anything under that number and you might be rejected.

Thanks kirlex

What you said is true i think. That friend's salary was over 20K.

By the way, anyone knows whether it is easy or not to change a training visa into an employment visa when one has been offered a position in the company he did the traineeship in?

Is it difficult? Is it compulsory to go back to western europe to wait for the visa?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Bonjour! For trainership to a perm position, not sure how it works in France, but it's pretty flexible here. so, don't think you need to go back to Europe first. And, the >$20K benchmark that I don't agree. Many of my expat friends don't get more than $20K, but as long as you got a sponser, your work visa should not be a problem, given that you got no criminal records, that sort of thing.

p.s. sorry my sign in name is Waterloo
