Working on dependant visa

I ve recently got married here to local and we submitte application a few days after wedding and I received the visa within 10 days. I am also British.

After wedding I left HK and we made submission with me out of country and I came back when the visa was approved. Not sure of benefit of applying while out of country, or in country, we went for out of country as we thought less chance of getting pulled in for interviews expecially as we were so recently married and had no shared bank accounts etc.

We submitted pack to immigration with wife's tax returns for last 2 years and copy of lease for flat to show she could support me if i did not have work. I included bank statements showing I had some cash (had about 5k UKL on them) and we also included wedding photos and a few other pictures from holidays. It seemed a very painless process.
