Soho ambitions

The property and hotel operator Regal Group, led by Lo Yuk Sui, is inviting the press to a launch party today for its Shatin Soho development. Shatin Soho? This particular Soho is "an innovative plan" to develop "the hottest new dining and entertainment hub in town." There are Sohos in London, New York and Hong Kong Island, usually south of somewhere and all of them trendy.
But there appears to be no Ho to be south of Shatin, trendy or otherwise, according to the street maps. So how did Regal come up with it? Connie Hui, marketing communications assistant at Regal Hotel, says "Soho" doesn't represent any words in particular. Regal used it supposedly because, when people hear "Soho," they immediately imagine a trendy place for drinking, dining and entertainment.

That has to get the dumbarse award of the week. Shatin Soho ... Hong Kong's main Soho area is bad enough with its wannabe ambitions.. but Shatin Soho?

Kombuchakid, do I sense some irony here? Anyway, no hard feelings or harm done but I have seen a few threads go completely off topic and wanted to avoid this happening to this one. So, anyone up for NYE at Schnurrbart's, say around 9p.m.?
