The Same Question thread (visa renewal) I could have sworn I read somewhere earlier that I didn't actually have to meander out of HK for a few hours just to get my 'Journey Completed' stamp on my new visa, was I mistaken? Do I need to go find something to do in shenzen or macau for 15 minutes? (a whole year, wow, that went kinda fast)

If you are talking about a standard Employment Visa then this whole "journey completed" requirement thing is a myth. I have had 1-2-2-1-3 year visa then renewals and I have never had any such stamp or needed to exit at any time.

i agree with PDLM, i've never had to leave HK to 'validate' my employment visa....not sure where that info originated (maybe from the pre-1997 days?)

Hrm, when I entered since I hadn't had my visa 'validated' (stamped, what have you) the US airline counterparts had a snizzy because I had no return ticket, etc, etc. I'll be out of the country when my old one expires and I don't want to get caught having to buy a return ticket to cover their patooties because my new one hasn't been imprinted, or what not.
