But the also changed it so that the parents have to be married for the child to be able to get British Citizenship from the father. As a result I have a daughter born in London to a British father who is a Canadian citizen.

My husband and I are going throught the process in the UK. You apply for citizenship, when this is granted you have to attend a ceremony then you can apply for a passport. If you applied after Nov 2005 you have to sit a citizenship test though, which as a reasonably intelligent UK born person even I find difficult !! You can always call the help line number on the home office website and they are increadibly helpful.
