I wished that I had gotten on this Geoexpat website sooner. I spent 2 months in HK and met some great people from here near the end of my trip. I didn't go to the Geoexpat Christmas party cuz it was full... phooie on those who didn't show, I wanted one of those wigs! I'm back in Canada now cuz it was time to go home but I've been coming to HK every year. Next time I'm in HK again, I'll try to plan more get-togethers and take more photos. It's been fun!

I encourage you all to go to one of these Geoexpat events.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Wow, soooo many Canadians here. We should keep a lower profile before they catch on to our masterplan to take over the world and force feed everyone Tim Hortons. I am oringally from Montreal, but am one of those dying breeds who are anglophone (although I can speak french if my arm is twisted enough). I like football (both types), temperature over 30oC and 'dong lai cha'.

During lunch break, I saw this guy wearing just t-shirt and jeans in this weather. Suspect he is part of the Canadian invasion. He was also listening to his ipod (Celine Dion ???). Scary ...

My name is Axel, I'm German but left when I was 18, have since lived in Ireland, US, Mexico and Netherlands prior to coming to HK a year ago. Have travelled extensively, all continents except that really cold one down south and travelling is also a major part of my work and a big hobby of mine. For anything else, check my profile or send me a PM.

Not a Canadian.....Chinese male raised up in Amsterdam and currently working here in HK as a legalist. I do speak Dutch, Hakka, Canto and English. Love Italy and miss continental Europe. The slow pace, the open minded attitude, multi-culturalism, easy-jet. Yet HK is a dynamic and lively city where I can find some of my roots back.

Never managed to go to one of the Geo drinks or dinners. Should make it the next time and hope to meet you guys then!!

Chao ciao

Hi, my name is quite visible from my login name. Born and raised in Hong Kong. Studied in the US during highschool years and currently a freshman in college.
Like photography, travel (would list the countries, but 53 is too long to list), skiing, scuba diving/snorkeling, squash, hanging out, being spontaneous.

Hi! I'm a local mom born and raised in HK, with a local husband and 4 yr old daughter. This forum is eye-opening to me. My main occupation now is trying to help my daughter survive under the ever changing and degrading local school system, and maybe getting back to my career a few years later. I speak Cantonese, English and rusty French.
