Hi Everyone - I'm a newbie too! I'm an Aussie born Chinese, currently residing in Sydney and hope to be in HK by mid next year.

Thanks for such a great forum, I've spent some time reading through the threads - a useful site as I am currently doing my research on working in HK.

It's great to see the social activities being organised too!! I was really worryied about becoming some anti-social expat with no friends!

I was borned in Hong Kong. I left HK to live in the States since I was 10. After 35 years, I decided to come back to my root in the Spring of 2006. I am a graphic designer by trade. So, if anybody knows any good leads, please give me a shout.

I know it will be difficult for me to adjust to the HK ways of life, but I am looking forward to this brand new start.

I have been wondering around this site for quite sometimes already and I found this site to be very entertaining and resourceful.

I am a HK born Canadian now working in California.

Have no permanent relocation plan soon, but going to be in HKG for family visit/vacation for around 10 days (Dec 3-13) and just stumbled across this forum. It seems like you all are lots of fun. Glad I found this place.

Aside from travel and foods, some of my favorite things include: wine, Guinness, trail running, the NFL, live music (bands/artists like Coldplay, Radiohead, Eryka Badu, Diana Krall, Sade) and.... Dave Chappelle.

The X'Mas GeoExpat dinner sounds fun, and since I don't have any plan yet, I just might join you all and swap travel/work/life/horror/love/creepy/sad/odd/weird stories with you.

I've been travellling up and down to HK for the last 8 years,..now here to stay for at least a year maybe longer.....Depends on getting a job as a Intensive Care Nurse (HELP !! ).

For the rest I have been travelling around the world partly private, partly job related.
Now just getting used to living here,......

Hi!

Just found these forums yesterday...wish I'd found them sooner. ABC that's been back and forth between Hong Kong and the US for the past several years. I'm in Hong Kong for the moment, but for a short time (a real short time, my flight leaves tomorrow!) but love the city and wish I could move back full time. Hopefully, I can get to meet up with some of you while I am back!

Canadian eh? I'm from Richmond BC Canada. Been there my whole life. I moved here 2 months ago to work. The hardest part is that i'm Chinese and can't speak the language. I'm still having a hard time adapting to the life style here. My whole life changed within the last few months. I only have a couple of friends and would like to meet more.
